Why leaves are their own service here
Oak, sweetgum, pecan and hackberry dominate the older neighborhoods on both sides of the state line, and they do not drop politely over a weekend. The drop runs from late October into December, and on a wooded lot it means three or four visits, not one heroic Saturday.
Left on the lawn, a matted leaf layer blocks light and holds moisture against turf heading into dormancy. On warm-season grass that means a thin, slow green-up in April. On fescue it means the crown sits wet all winter, which is exactly the condition disease wants.
How we do it
- Blow out the edges first — bed interiors, fence lines, foundation plantings and the corners where leaves pack in and rot.
- Consolidate the open turf into windrows with backpack blowers.
- Vacuum or tarp and haul. Everything leaves the property unless you have a compost area you want it in.
- Clear the hard surfaces — drive, walks, patio, porch, and the street gutter in front of the house so it does not wash back.
- Final pass once the trees are actually finished, usually mid-December.

Season packages
Most wooded properties do better on a season package than on one-off calls: three or four scheduled visits between late October and mid-December, priced together, so you are not calling us in a panic the week before Thanksgiving when everybody else in Germantown is calling too. Ask when you get your quote — we will tell you honestly how many passes your canopy actually needs.

A quarter-acre yard runs $150–$290 per visit, a half acre $210–$475, and a full acre $400–$925. Tree density matters more than lot size — a heavily canopied quarter acre can cost more than an open half acre.
How many visits will I need?
On a lightly treed lot, one good pass in early December often does it. On a wooded property in Germantown or East Memphis, plan on three to four visits from late October through mid-December, because the trees do not finish at the same time.
Can you just mulch the leaves into the lawn instead?
Sometimes, and it is cheaper when it works. A light leaf layer can be mulched into the turf with the mower and adds organic matter. Once the layer is thick enough to hide the grass, mulching just packs a mat on top of the lawn and it needs to come off.
Do you clean gutters too?
Gutter clearing is available as an add-on with a leaf visit on single-story and standard two-story homes. It is quoted separately because access varies so much.
When should the last visit be?
Mid-December, once the oaks have given up. Warm-season lawns are dormant by then — first killing frost here is typically early-to-mid November — so the goal is simply getting the canopy load off the turf before it sits all winter.
